About me
My name is Petrus Snoeijer. I was born in the Netherlands, but have lived with my family in Görlitz since 2008.
Before I moved here I studied Protestant theology in Utrecht (The Netherlands), Wroclaw (Poland) and Prague (Czech Republic), after which I taught Dutch and Dutch art and cultural history at the University of Wroclaw for several years in which time I also did translation work.
For many years I have been a certified city guide for the city of Görlitz, for the historical churches of Görlitz, for the Holy Sepulchre and for the Renaissance building of the Silesian Museum.
Guiding guests through our beautiful town is not the only thing I do. I teach English and Dutch at the community college (Volkshochschule) in Görlitz and give regularly lectures about topics in history, the arts and religion and sometimes lead art excursions.
Here is an overview of the lectures held so far >> Lectures
My passions are history and art history. I love to delve into new areas of history and art history and I also love to impart my knowledge to others.
