Tour: Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau
With the so called “Gründerzeit” from 1870 on, a new chapter in Görlitz's urban development began. Today Görlitz has the largest “Gründerzeit” town quarter in Germany that has been preserved as a whole. Typical styles for this period are Classicism, Historicism and Art Nouveau, the latter being very important to Görlitz.
In this guided tour you will discover this district of Görlitz. In addition to the well-known buildings such as the famous Art Noveau department store (known from the film "Grand Budapest Hotel"), the theatre, the city hall (Stadthalle), the “Straßburg Passage” and the railway station, you will see many other buildings that shape the cityscape of Görlitz and you will hear a lot of interesting facts about this fascinating time.

Each additional person: € 7,00.
When possible, the Art Nouveau department store will be visited, but there are no regular opening hours, so a visit cannot be guaranteed.
No tours on Sundays.
